To state the completely obvious, the Dallas Cowboys' defense has been atrocious for most of the 2025 season. Part of the disaster for the defense has been due to injuries, and frankly, part of it has been on Jerry Jones for trading away Micah Parsons.
But ultimately, the guy who is going to have to fall on the proverbial sword is defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus. Eberflus is a former head coach whose pedigree as a defensive play-caller is what got him his head coaching gig (with the Bears) in the first place. It seems like his role with the Dallas Cowboys as defensive coordinator is going to be extremely short-lived.
