It’s not exactly unexpected news, but Jerry Jones went ahead and declared Tavon Austin the Cowboys punt returner.
”[Tavon Austin] will be our punt returner and he’s a threat every time he touches the ball. The other thing we didn’t know is what a leader, how really focused he is and intense he is as a professional football player. Boy, he brings something to the table there.”
It seems natural that a player with Austin’s skills would be the punt returner, but last year in Los Angeles, that Rams actually had to take those responsibilities away from him at one point.
