By all accounts, fight night at Ford Center in Frisco was a huge success.
Certainly, a longer fight would have been preferred by the fans in attendance and national television audience for Showtime Championship Boxing.
But IBF Welterweight Champion Errol Spence Jr. is the real deal and he set himself up for bigger paydays with his first-round knock out of mandatory challenger Carlos Ocampo, who was clearly out of his league.
Spence, a DeSoto native, certainly has a new fan in Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones as the fight helped him show off his world headquarters at the Ford Center to the world.
