The Dallas Cowboys secondary produced a paltry 5 interceptions this season. Those with the interceptions Jeff Heath (2), JJ Wilcox (1), Terrance Mitchell (1) and Deji Olatoye aren’t exactly household names within Dallas least of all the NFL.
The addition of first round draft pick Byron Jones was a resounding success. The rookie played across the field at all cornerback positions as well as six times at free safety. He was given the unenviable task of shadowing Rob Gronkowski, Jimmy Graham, Greg Olsen and Jordan Reed in games and tackled it with aplomb. The results may not have gone in Dallas’ favour but Jones garnered praise from Jason Garrett.
