Ex-Cowboys scout offers frustrating reason why Dallas hired Brian Schottenheimer

It didn't take long for Jerry Jones to become one of the more polarizing figures in NFL history. After all, after he bought America's Team in 1989, Jones' first move was to fire the original face of the Dallas Cowboys, Tom Landry. Fast forward to 2025 when Jones hired Brian Schottenheimer as his next head coach.

The Joneses were torn to pieces, likely because they had a whole pool of talented coaches to search for from the outside, and they never really did that. Schottenheimer was hired because of his familiarity with the Cowboys system.

On the "Doin Alright with Broaddus and Voch" podcast, former Cowboys WR Jesse Holley made an appearance and asked if the Cowboys just settled to hire Schottenheimer.
