FRISCO -- Nothing about Wednesday was business as usual for the Cowboys at The Star.
Jerry Jones made sure the team wouldn't have a quiet bye week. The Cowboys owner has been outspoken since Sunday about his stance that players must "not disrespect the flag" and will have to stand for the national anthem or be benched.
Players voiced their concerns about Jones' stance during a meeting with coach Jason Garrett before practice.
The players and coaches then heard from Jones in another meeting after practice where the owner told them what he's been saying publicly all week: He wants to help the players by taking the focus off of what they could do during the anthem and feels that standing is in the best interest of the Cowboys.
