FRISCO, Texas -- When the Dallas Cowboys drafted Dak Prescott in the fourth round last spring, nobody really wanted to see him play in 2016, because it likely would have meant another fruitless season of backup-quarterback play after a 4-12 finish in 2015 because of poor backup-quarterback play.
Now, with one game to play in what has been a magical Cowboys season, nobody wants to see Prescott play Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, but for an entirely different reason: He is too valuable to lose.
Since their last Super Bowl, in the 1995-96 season, the Cowboys have had just two realistic chances of getting back to the NFL’s championship game.
