While the Dallas Cowboys obviously weren't playing for anything postseason-related in their Week 17 matchup with the Washington Commanders, they knew that a win over their longtime rivals would get them one step closer to avoiding back-to-back losing seasons for the first time since a trio of 5-11 campaigns from 2000 to 2002.
And while many fans of America's Team didn't actually want Dallas to win for draft-order purposes, the Cowboys gifted them one on Christmas Day anyway, jumping out to a 21-3 lead and ultimately improving to 7-8-1 on the year with a 30-23 victory.
