Amari Cooper's inconsistent production over the last two seasons has been the biggest criticism of the two-time Pro Bowler.
Executive vice president Stephen Jones explained Friday why the Cowboys felt comfortable making the trade despite Cooper's statistics slipping since the end of the 2016 season.
"We feel like he's a No. 1 receiver," Jones said on 105.3 The Fan's Ben and Skin show [KRLD-FM]. "He's going to be put in there right away and certainly will be given opportunities right away, a lot of them."
Cooper, 24, had consecutive 1,000-yard seasons his first two years with the Raiders.
