FRISCO, Texas -- The Dallas Cowboys will go into the divisional round of the playoffs against the San Francisco 49ers with kicker Brett Maher battling the yips.
Maher became the first player in any NFL game since 1932 to miss four extra points in a regular season or playoff game, according to the Elias Sports Bureau, a span of 16,207 games, in the Cowboys' 31-14 wild-card playoff win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday.
"I believe in the hot hand, and I believe in the yips, absolutely," special teams coordinator John Fassel said.
