Cowboys roster move: Ezekiel Elliott added to 53-man roster, Alfred Morris released to make room

In the early days of training camp, Jerry Jones and the rest of the Dallas Cowboys were thrilled to be able to bring in then-free agent running back Alfred Morris.

Of course, at the time Dallas was dealing with a holdout from Ezekiel Elliott (who has since signed a long-term contract extension) and needed a veteran presence to go with young running backs Tony Pollard, Mike Weber, and Jordan Chunn.

Fast forward a month and a half and almost 24 hours away from the regular season beginning.
