Cowboys owner Jerry Jones gets promise he won't be placed on PUP list after him replacement

Jerry Jones, eight days removed from hip replacement surgery, had no problem moving around before and after Wednesday’s opening news conference.

“I may be moving a little bit slower this training camp because of my hip surgery, but I am feeling good,’’ Jones said. “Stephen (Jones) and Coach (Jason) Garrett have promised me I’m not going to get on any lists around here, PUP (physically unable to perform) lists or no-show lists, anything like that.’’

The hip had bothered Jones for the past year and had grown progressively worse. The Cowboys owner made the decision two months ago to schedule the surgery.
