Cowboys hope to end losing streak with Ronald Torbert as referee

FRISCO, Texas -- When the Dallas Cowboys come off the bye Sunday at the San Francisco 49ers, they will see a not-so-familiar face as the referee in Ronald Torbert.

Since becoming a referee in 2014, Torbert has worked just two Cowboys games and Dallas has lost both.

Torbert called the 2016 season-opening loss to the New York Giants. The Cowboys were penalized six times for 50 yards, while their division foes were flagged four times for 40 yards. Torbert also worked the last game Tony Romo started for the Cowboys in the 2015 Thanksgiving Day meeting against the Carolina Panthers.
