Cowboys' defense robbed Dak Prescott of celebrating making franchise history

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott came into Sunday's matchup against the Carolina Panthers with the chance to rewrite a couple of franchise record books.

First, there was the thing he was asked about most in the days leading into this Week 6 contest, that being that his next victory would give him 79 regular-season wins for his career, thus moving him past Tony Romo for the third-most in Cowboys history. But that one will obviously have to wait, as Dallas, despite yet another solid effort from Prescott, took a 30-27 loss.

On the positive side of things - well, at least as positive as one can get out of yet another disappointing defeat - early in the second half, Dak did take over second place on the Cowboys' all-time passing yards list, surpassing Troy Aikman.
