Every NFL rookie’s situation is unique. From the players taken early in the first round to those picked late into Day 3, each rookie has different expectations in Year 1.
Some are expected to make an immediate impact for various reasons, such as an injury to the player they were originally slated to back up, an opt-out by a starter due to the ongoing pandemic or a glaring hole at a key position. Others, however, will see little playing time in their rookie campaigns and are more developmental pieces who are expected to make an impact down the road.
