Jason Garrett is on the hot seat right now for the Dallas Cowboys, despite what Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones say publicly. After all, Garrett is entering his 10th year with the Cowboys with no extension. The Cowboys got off to a hot start to the season, but now Garrett’s hot seat is hotter than ever. Cowboys Report Host Tom Downey has the top 10 candidates to replace Garrett if Jerry Jones and Cowboys decide to fire Jason Garrett.
Lincoln Riley is the top name, for good reason. Riley has garnered a lot of NFL attention with his success at Oklahoma, with Jalen Hurts playing well after having issues as a passer at Alabama. Recent reports said Jerry Jones is “very intrigued” by head coach Lincoln Riley, who could be willing to seriously consider the right NFL job.
Kris Richard or Kellen Moore could become the first Jason Garrett assistant to be named an NFL head coach. But is the Cowboys job the right fit for those two and should they go with an internal hire? And what other Cowboys head coaching targets are there?
