Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson signed a long-term deal over the weekend with an average annual value of $39 million, which is right around the yearly amount Dak Prescott is looking to earn. However, Tom Downey says the Watson deal could really affect the guaranteed money in Prescott’s next contract.
Safety Xavier Woods left the Dallas Cowboys’ scrimmage last week and has since been dealing with groin and ankle injuries, leaving his status for Week 1 up in the air. However, Jerry Jones said today he fully expects Woods to play Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams. Tom also has an update on injuries to Jourdan Lewis and Luke Gifford, who were listed as game-time decisions for the season opener.

Earl Thomas is still on the free agent market after his falling-out with the Baltimore Ravens, and while the Cowboys faithful have been clamoring for his signing, there appears to be no serious interest inside the organization.
