Cowboys News: Kellen Moore Mulling Retirement To Pursue Coaching Career

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Kellen Moore lost his backup job to rookie Cooper Rush this past season, and he's now contemplating retirement in order to pursue a coaching career, according to Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Moore's football knowledge has been praised by everyone who has been around him, but his physical abilities haven't been able to translate those smarts into production on the field.

Should he decide to coach, there's a chance the Cowboys could keep him on staff, but he would also likely receive opportunities at Boise State, his alma mater, and at Washington, where his collegiate head coach Chris Petersen is now employed.

Moore was not active in any games this year. His only regular season playing time came in 2015, when he completed 58.7 percent of his passes for 779 yards and four TDs with six interceptions.
