Cowboys Poised As The NFL World "Churns"

As told to Cowboys Chat Sports.com on Wednesday of this week, "Our scouts track every team and have been pro-active in attending preseason. We always look to improve the roster." Words straight from Dallas Cowboys Director of Pro and Collegiate Scouting, Tom Ciskowski. Mark those words as Gospel in the gridiron world, and Cowboys fans consider yourselves lucky.

Based on last night's debacle in South Florida, one can only hope the Cowboys are perched in front of every waiver wire known to man. Moving forward with the current cast of characters will NOT cut it. All coaches hope to see young and bubble players step up in the final preseason contest with grand hopes of making a final NFL roster. If any on-the-fence players solidified a spot based on last night's results, it's going to be a very long season for your Dallas Cowboys. All can be summed up with the tragic injury and potential career-threatening fall of WR candidate, and local product, Raymond Radway.

Making matters worse is the collection of clowns the Cowboys have competing in the Big Top for Lead Bozo and a right to handle kicking duties for the 2011 season. When you have five kickers in camp, it's a clear and distinct proclamation you have NONE. This is massively troubling, especially with the current crop of overseers assigned to Special Teams. Joe D and Chris Boniol are cream of the crop, but no one seems to be able to figure out an answer for field goal consistency. Isn't there a Field Goals 'R Us store anywhere in the Metroplex? With the NFL being a game of inches and marginal point differentials, the Cowboys kicking situation, affectionately known as The Sidewinder Circus, is inexcusable and borderline negligent. This matter MUST be sorted out before the charter leaves for NYC.

With Tom Ciskowski's troops dispersed in NFL camps all over the country, look for the Cowboys to add talented, veteran depth to round out the bottom of their 53-man roster. They know which teams are stacked at which positions, and if it is a position of need for the Cowboys, look for them to waste little time fortifying razor-thin depth at various positions. They have come a long way, pertaining to Cap space, from the beginning of the free agency period. Old, fat cats are gone, and millions have been recouped. Time to prudently spend and put the finishing touches on a talented roster. Let's hope the homework is worthy of praise and high marks. Stay tuned as your Dallas Cowboys are trimmed into season-starting form.
