Cowboys News: Dallas, Jason Garrett Agree To Five-Year Deal

The Dallas Cowboys and head coach Jason Garrett have reached a five-year agreement to keep Garrett in Dallas, according to ESPN.

Garrett's contract expired after the Cowboys lost to the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Divisional Playoffs, and while many other franchises wanted to pursue Garrett, he made no indication that he would go anywhere other than Dallas.

Jerry Jones said yesterday that re-signing Garrett was at the top of his offseason to-do list, and now has to keep defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli, who has been linked to the Buccaneers.  Several key players, most notably running back DeMarco Murray and receiver Dez Bryant, are approaching free agency.

Garrett has gone 41-31 in his four and a half seasons as Cowboys head coach (he took over as the interim coach in 2010), and won the NFC East title this year.
