Cowboys NFL Draft Rumors: Everything You Need To Know Heading Into Draft Week

The 2015 NFL Draft is just a few days away, and there’s plenty of reason to be excited about the festivities in Chicago if you’re a Dallas Cowboys fan. Here’s our breakdown of everything Cowboys fans need to know heading into draft week:

Dallas wants to draft Boise State RB Jay Ajayi in the second round

The Cowboys are trying to replace All-Pro running back DeMarco Murray, and they’ve targeted Boise State running back Jay Ajayi as the guys they want, according to Rant Sports.

The report states that the Cowboys aren’t likely to make a trade for Adrian Peterson as they plan to draft Ajayi in the second round. Dallas has the 60th overall pick in the second round, and the article cites a source that states the Cowboys won’t be afraid to trade up in order to get their man.

Dallas likes Ajayi’s speed, strength, and deceptive elusiveness, as well as his ability to be a factor in the passing game (both blocking and receiving). If they manage to land him, he would split carries with free agent signing Darren McFadden.

Is Dallas targeting troubled Mizzou WR Dorial Green-Beckham?

The Dallas Cowboys hosted Missouri WR Dorial Green-Beckham on the last day players and teams could make pre-draft visits, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Green-Beckham had previously declined an invitation to meet with the Cowboys earlier in the offseason.

As a prospect, Green-Beckham comes with some serious character concerns stemming from two separate burglary and assault charges while at Missouri, but there’s no doubting what this 6’6″, 240-pound wideout can do on the field. He’s an excellent red zone target with amazing speed for his size, but needs to develop his route running and consistency to reach his full potential.

Green-Beckham also visited San Francisco, Kansas City, Cincinnati and Baltimore. He caught 59 passes for 883 yards and 12 touchdowns in his last season at Mizzou.
