4 Reasons Why Tony Romo Is A Better QB Than Eli Manning

The NFC East's top two quarterbacks face off Sunday night as Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys take on Eli Manning and the New York Giants. One of these QBs is significantly better than the other. Here are four reasons why Tony Romo is a better QB than Eli Manning.

Accuracy

Romo is one of the most accurate QBs in the NFL. His career completion percentage checks in just above 65 percent. Manning checks in at 59 percent. In his entire career, Romo has never had a season with a completion percentage below 61 percent. That accuracy is only part of what makes Romo a better QB than Manning.

Touchdowns

Excluding his first season and when he only played in six games, Romo has thrown for at least 26 touchdowns each year. He's thrown for 30 or more in four seasons, including the last two. Manning has failed to reach 26 TDs in five seasons, excluding his rookie season. Manning has only thrown for 30 TDs twice. Romo simply scores more than Manning does.

Fewer Turnovers

Early in his career, Romo was prone to multiple interception games. He has elminated that weakness from his game. He's never had a 20-INT season in his career. Manning has three of them, including 27 picks two years ago. Manning turns the ball over far too much to be considered better than Romo.

Better In The 4th Quarter

The whole "Romo isn't clutch" narrative is completely false. I could go on and on about Romo's clutchness, but the best stat is that he is only behind Aaron Rodgers in 4th quarter passer rating. Manning doesn't come close to Romo in that department. Romo has 14 fourth quarter comebacks in the last three seasons against Manning's six. Yes, Manning has won two Super Bowls, but those both came years ago. Romo is better than Manning right now. And if Romo keeps playing at a high level, he might add a Super bowl ring of his own.
