3. Defense Trending Up

The Cowboys have been sneaky good on the defensive side of the ball, ranking 8th in total defense through three games despite giving up 39 to the Falcons last week. This unit will have to carry Dallas given the injuries to Tony Romo and Dez Bryant, and they've shown they have the ability to do so. Don't look now, but Dallas may be THIS CLOSE to having an elite defense.

2. Top-Tier Offensive Line

The NFL hasn't seen an offensive line this stacked since the Cowboys' dynasty in the 1990s. Tyron Smith, Travis Frederick and Zack Martin are all among the best at their positions. Doug Free and Ronald Leary both played well last season. Leary might even lose his job to La'El Collins, a first round talent who went undrafted. The Cowboys even spent a third round pick on Chaz Green to be their swing tackle of the future.

1. Brandon Weeden Is Due

Listen -- Weeden isn't nearly as bad of a quarterback as his detractors make him out to be. He's got a fantastic arm and solid instincts on the three- and five-step drops. He's not Tony Romo, but that's less a knock on him than a compliment for Romo. There's enough talent around Weeden, Dez Bryant or not, to make things happen this weekend.
