If there’s one emotion that comes across in When Eagles Dare, it’s pride. Pride in the promotion hunting side of 2012/13, pride in the journey the club has been on since it’s brush with liquidation in 2010, and pride in the club’s importance to the culture of south London.
“All football fans want fans of other clubs to appreciate their club too,” says Chris Grierson, interviewer and producer of the series. “As much as there are rivalries, everyone wants everyone else to understand why they love their club. I think that’s come across.
“The thing that is most special is seeing how much non-Palace fans enjoyed it, learning a story they knew nothing about.
