Spurs v Palace *could* be new stadium curtain-raiser on April 3

Crystal Palace may take part in the opening match of Tottenham Hotspur's new 62,062-seater stadium.

The opening game at 'the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium' will either be against Palace or Brighton & Hove Albion.

The curtain raiser is subject to both a safety certificate, and the outcome of Brighton & Hove Albion’s FA Cup match on Sunday 17th March.

If Brighton win their FA Cup quarter-final match on Sunday 17th March, Spurs will indeed host Crystal Palace on Wednesday 3rd April (and then face Brighton on 23rd/24th April).

If Brighton lose their FA Cup quarter-final match on Sunday 17th March, Spurs will host Brighton on 6th or 7th April (subject to Champions League scheduling) and then Crystal Palace on 23rd/24th April.
