Roy Hodgson becomes oldest Premier League manager in history

Roy Hodgson will become the oldest manager ever to take charge of a Premier League club this afternoon when his Crystal Palace side take on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

Surpassing Sir Bobby Robson on Wednesday as the oldest man to lead a Premier League club, today Hodgson is 71 years and 196 days old, four days older than Robson was on the day of his last game.

Speaking to the official Palace programme, Hodgson said on the achievement: "I’m wary of placing too much emphasis in terms of positivity on getting pats on the back because you’re old but I’ve got to be proud of the milestone.
