Kalvin Phillips: Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson keen on loan move for Man City midfielder

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson is keen on a loan move for England midfielder Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City.

Phillips, 28, has been linked with a move away from Etihad Stadium this month having not started a game in the Premier League this season.

Hodgson said Palace may not be able to afford a permanent deal, but a short-term loan could suit all parties with Phillips eyeing Euro 2024 this summer.

"He's a good player," said Hodgson.

"I would like to think that if Kalvin Phillips is available and a possibility for the club - once again, there will be financial restrictions, who knows whether the club feels they will be able to afford that - but if you're talking about the level of player, I don't feel there will be many managers who would not say 'yeah, we will be really happy to have him come to the club'.
