Crystal Palace are likely to escape FA disciplinary action after a supporter invaded the pitch and confronted Damien Delaney during the club’s 4-0 defeat by Sunderland at the weekend.
A 23-year-old was arrested and held in custody at South London police station before being bailed. He will return to the force in March to discover if he will face possible charges.
The FA do not have jurisdiction over supporters and are therefore likely to leave the issue to the club and police to resolve.

FA governance officials will study the scenes at the end of the match, where supporters appeared to tussle with stewards as they sought to target Palace players heading down the tunnel.
