Crystal Palace offered opportunity to sign former Italy international Alberto Gilardino as Roy Hodgson looks to strengthen his attacking options

Crystal Palace have been offered the chance to sign free agent striker Alberto Gilardino.

The 35-year-old won the World Cup with Italy in 2006 and the Champions League with AC Milan in 2007.

The former Italy international has been without a club since leaving Pescara last season, in which he only made three appearances.
