Crystal Palace goalkeeper Steve Mandanda ruled out for six weeks as he undergoes surgery on knee injury

Crystal Palace have been dealt a further blow with the news that first-choice goalkeeper Steve Mandanda will be out for six weeks with a knee injury.

The Eagles have lost their last six Premier League matches, and manager Alan Pardew confirmed on Friday that the France stopper will undergo surgery this week.

Mandanda missed Palace's last-gasp defeat at Swansea last weekend, but the injury was found to be worse than initially feared, and Palace will have to do without their summer signing until at least the middle of January.
