CRYSTAL PALACE FAN VIEW: Sacking Patrick Vieira and replacing him with Roy Hodgson was UNNECESSARY. The board should be looking at themselves for this season's failings. We should stay up anyway, but we've taken a backwards step

The events of the last five days all feel totally unnecessary - how the hell have we ended up with Roy Hodgson back as our manager when we sit 12th in the Premier League?

Yes, 12th only means three points above the relegation zone and yes, Palace have not won in 12 league matches, but all 12 of those matches have come against teams above us. They included respectable draws against Manchester United, Liverpool, Newcastle, Brighton and Brentford and five of the seven defeats were by one goal.

Such a tough run of fixtures means that, mercifully, eight of our remaining 10 matches are against teams below us - by far the easiest run of any of the nine teams scrapping for survival.
