Wilfried Zaha’s importance to Crystal Palace has been outlined by the club’s assistant manager Ray Lewington, who also downplayed suggestions the forward could leave Selhurst Park this summer.

Zaha, 25, ended the Premier League season with nine goals and three assists to his name, further strengthening his claim to be called the best player outside the top six.

The Eagles are an unfocused mess without Zaha on the pitch - which was too frequent an occurrence in 2017/18 due to injury - but they turn into a fearsome outfit when selected.
