GALESBURG, Ill. – The Creighton women's tennis team picked up a 7-0 victory against Western Illinois on Saturday morning to open the 2017 dual season.
The Bluejays opened the day with a clean sweep of the Leathernecks in doubles action. Creighton picked up 6-1 wins at the No. 3 (Claire Embree / Hylan Miller) and No. 1 (Ashley Ishimura / Darby Rosette) slots before picking up a 6-5 comeback win at No. 2 doubles. Michaela Henne and Katherine Nelsen trailed 5-2 before rallying for the Bluejays' third doubles victory of the morning.
