Women’s Tennis Overpowers Providence in BIG EAST Opener, 5-1

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Creighton women's tennis team overcome the weather and multiple injuries to opened BIG EAST action with a 5-1 victory over Providence on Monday night at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.

The Bluejays improved to 6-3 on the year and 1-0 in BIG EAST play, while the Friars fell to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in conference action. It is the first time the Bluejays have opened BIG EAST play with a victory since defeating Providence in the conference opener in 2017.

Due to weather approaching the Orlando area, singles were played first in hopes of declaring a winner.
