WATERLOO, Iowa -- The Creighton women's tennis team posted a 5-2 victory over Eastern Illinois on Friday at the Black Hawk Tennis Club in Waterloo, Iowa during the Bluejays' first match of the 2021 season.
The Bluejays moved to 1-0, while the Panthers fell to 1-2.
Creighton started the contest with wins at the No. 2 and 3 doubles slots to secure the first overall point. and claimed a 6-2 win at No. 3 before newcomers and paired for a 6-4 victory at the No. 2 slot.
All six singles matches ended in straight sets as the Bluejays won four of the six matchups to earn the team victory.
