LAWRENCE, Kan. -- The Creighton women's tennis team earned two victories during day one of the 2017 ITA Central Regionals hosted by the University of Kansas.
The duo of Ashley Ishimura and Darby Rosette opened the day with a doubles victory, and Michaela Henne claimed a win during singles play.
Ishimura and Rosette needed a tiebreaker to defeat a pair from Oklahoma. The Bluejay pair outlasted the Sooners' Malene Stripp and Camila Romero 7-5 during the deciding game.
Henne squeezed out a 7-5 opening set win against Missouri's Mackenzy Middlebrooks before winning 6-3 in the second frame to claim the straight-sets victory.
