OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton women's soccer senior Emma Yackley was named as the inaugural Spirit of Laudato Si' Award winner by Creighton Univeristy on Friday, April 22.
The award honors students, staff, faculty, or groups that work to develop a culture of sustainability at Creighton in keeping Laudato Si', a 2015 papal encyclical that urges "care for our common home" through environmental stewardship.
Yackly, a medical anthropology major, is scheduled to graduate next spring and was nominated for her with the Creighton University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), where she serves on the executive board and has been a constant source of creative ideas.
