Chicago, Ill.-- Paced by 14 second-half points from junior MC McGrory, the seventh- seeded Creighton women's basketball team defeated No. 2 Villanova 57-48 in the BIG EAST Quarterginals on Sunday, March 6.
With the win the Bluejays evened their record at 16-16 on the season and will advance to face the winner of the No. 6 Marquette vs. No. 3 Seton Hall contest currently in progress. Villanova closes the regular season at 19-11, with three of those losses coming to the Bluejays.
Creighton jumped out to a early lead as McGrory and sophomore Jade Owens hit the first two buckets of the game.
