STORRS, Conn. – The Creighton women's basketball team suffered its first loss in seven games with a 62-60 heartbreaking defeat to No. 6 Connecticut on Wednesday night inside the Harry A. Gample Pavilion.
The loss drops the Bluejays to 18-7 on the year and 12-5 in BIG EAST play, while Connecticut moved to 23-4 overall and 15-1 in league play.
A back-and-forth battle in the opening quarter saw the Bluejays take early advantages of 8-5 and 13-10 on baskets from juniors Molly Mogensen and Lauren Jensen with 3:27 left in the opening period.
