OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton men's tennis team will not be making the trip to Oklahoma and Kansas to open the 2017 campaign. Because of impending winter weather throughout the Midwest this weekend, the Bluejays decided to cancel their original plans of opening the season at No. 12 Oklahoma on Friday before heading to Kansas to face the Wichita State Shockers on Saturday afternoon.
The team hopes to reschedule both matches for later this season.
Creighton will now begin its season on Jan. 21 at Iowa.
The Bluejays finished the 2016 slate with a 10-10 overall record, including their first victory over a BIG EAST opponent since joining the conference in 2013, and the team's first win at a league championship event since the 2004 Missouri Valley Conference Championships.
