The Bluejays blitzed the visitors in the opening eight minutes, racing to a 21-4 lead after three-pointers from Isaiah Zierden and Maurice Watson Jr. Xavier mounted a comeback, and would draw within seven, before CU extended its halftime lead to 35-25. Watson paced Creighton with 10 points and five assists at the break, and CU held Xavier's offense to 12-of-38 shooting overall and 1-of-12 marksmanship from long range.
