LAKE WORTH, Fla. -- A 19th-place showing by Nate Vontz led the Creighton men's golf team to a ninth-place finish at the Southern Invitational at the team's first tournament in nearly a year.
The tournament took place at The Falls Club in Lake Worth, Fla., and was played on a par 72 course that measured 6,757 yards. It was CU's first event since the Orlando Invitational on March 9-10, 2020.
A junior from Lincoln, Vontz had Creighton's best round of the tournament with an opening-round 69 before wrapping up with rounds of 76 and 72 for a 217 total.
