OMAHA, Neb. -- Junior Nate Vontz tied for fourth place to help the Creighton men's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the Zach Johnson Invitational, which concluded on Tuesday in West Des Moines, Iowa.
Vontz entered the day two shots out of the lead and hovered near the top of the leaderboard throughout the morning before double-bogeys on two of his final three holes thwarted his run for medalist honors. He would finish with rounds of 73, 71 and 74 for a 218 total, three shots behind eventual winner Garrett Willis of Valparaiso.
