OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton sophomore Ty-Shon Alexander has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week after averaging 22.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists during two wins last week.
A sophomore from Charlotte, N.C., Alexander helped Creighton climb from last place to third place while making 50 percent of his shots from the field (13-26) and 50 percent from three-point range (8-16) as well as 68.8 percent at the line (11-16).
Alexander opened his week with 26 points, seven rebounds and four assists without a turnover in a 91-87 win at Georgetown, which helped CU snap a four-game losing streak.
