Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton Baseball saw it's fifth player from the 2018 season ink a deal to play at the next level as Grant Spranger signed a free agent contract with the Seattle Mariners.
A left-handed reliever for the Bluejays during the 2017 and 2018 seasons, Spranger came to Creighton from Southeaster Community College prior to the 2017 season. Grant appeared in 40 games for Creighton, including 28 contests last season. He posted a 1-1 record with 35 strikeouts in 25.1 innings in 2018, allowing just seven walks. Spranger closed his senior campaign with a strong final month, allowing just one hit in seven appearances in the month of May.
