OMAHA, Neb. -- After scoring 12 runs on 12 hits during an extra-inning victory against Wichita State on Saturday, the Creighton softball team managed only one run and two hits in a 9-1 loss to the Shockers on Sunday afternoon during the final game of the Creighton Tournament at the Creighton Sports Complex.
The Bluejays fell to 11-9 this season after finishing the weekend at 1-2.
Wichita State jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with a pair of unearned runs during the top of the first inning.
Ashley Cantu started the home half of the opening frame with a lead-off double down the left-field line.
