AUBURN, Ala. – The Creighton softball team picked up an extra-inning walk-off win over Evansville before falling to No. 2 Auburn on Saturday at the Plainsman Invitational in Auburn, Ala.
The Bluejays defeated the Purple Aces 1-0 in eight innings, and lost 9-0 in five innings against the Tigers.
Creighton is now 2-7 this season.
The Bluejays opened the day with a dramatic finish in their final at-bat.
In the bottom of the eighth, Mikaela Pechar started on second base because of the International Tiebreaker Rule.
Sam Crowley advanced Pechar to third with a sacrifice bunt, bringing up the top of the order for the Jays.
