Softball Suspends First Game of Weekend Against DePaul Because of Snow

CHICAGO -- The Creighton softball team suspended its BIG EAST series opener against DePaul on Saturday morning during the bottom of the fifth inning because of rain and snow causing unplayable conditions at Cacciatore Stadium in Chicago.

The first game of the three-game series will resume on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. with the Bluejays leading the Blue Demons, 7-4. DePaul will restart the action with runners at first and second base, one out and a 1-1 count to designated player Gabby O'Riley in the bottom of the fifth.

Creighton jumped out to a 5-0 lead with a five-run second inning.
