DELAND, Fla. -- Winners in six of their last seven games, the Creighton softball team used early momentum to claim a 3-2 victory over Colgate during the second day of the Hatter Classic in DeLand, Fla.
The win pushed the Bluejays to 6-2 on the year, while Colgate fell to 3-6 overall with the loss.
Creighton gained control early as the Bluejays jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom half of the first inning. Senior got things started with an infield single to open the game, while was hit by a pitch and drew a walk to load the bases.
