TEMPE, Ariz. – The Creighton softball team dropped a pair of games during the opening day of the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz. on Thursday.
In the first game the Bluejays fell 7-3 against San Jose State.
The Spartans started the scoring with a two-run home run in the top of the first from Madison Aurin.
Creighton responded with two runs of its own in the bottom of the first frame. The first two Jays reached base before Mileah McKelvy drove in Ashley Cantu on a single to left field for the first run of the 2017 season.
